Selling Always Solves Problems

Rather than focusing on sales, I see a great deal of bootstrapped companies wasting time on stupid sh*t. In fact, almost all of them do this at the very beginning.
They’re mucking around on their website, worrying about colours and logos.
They’re wasting weeks or months messing about with new software.
They’re wasting time looking at meaningless data and trivial metrics.
Or they’re messing around on social media.
Essentially, they’re doing almost everything they can to avoid doing what matters: Getting clients, selling, and putting money in the bank. Unfortunately, most bootstrapped companies, are doing everything but selling. Instead, they’re busy wasting their time mucking around on social media, watching tv, worrying about Google updates, wasting time with technical nonsense, and focusing on completely trivial tasks.
Right now, the most important thing you need to focus on is sales.
Selling solves problems.
Sales will solve all your problems.
Low on money? Sell
Can’t afford to hire? Sell
Stressed out due to poor cash flow? Sell
Can’t afford paid ads? Sell
Most bootstrapped companies have a cash flow problem, simply because they’re not selling. Whatever the problem, it can usually always be solved by selling. Focus on generating leads, hosting strategy sessions, getting clients and putting money in the bank.
How many sales calls have you done?
When it comes to sales, you need to ask yourself….
How many sales calls have we booked this month?
Because your earnings will be reflected by the number of sales calls you’ve booked.
Book a lot of calls – your earnings go up.
Don’t book any calls – your earnings flatline or may even go backwards.
For many of you, especially if you’re just starting out, you might need to host 20 or 30 calls before you become confident enough and are able to sell consistently.
My point is, in order to sell and generate revenue, you must be booking calls.
